Antivirus BP for View question on local sid

I have a question regarding the Antivirus BP for View doc and I am hoping someone can shed some light.

On page 8 when talking about the different between sysprep and quick prep it states:

Sysprep

When you Refresh the desktop, the unique ID is retained. When you

Recompose the desktop, a new unique ID is generated.......

Quick Prep

After a Refresh or Recompose, the unique ID in Active

Directory is retained,

& QuickPrep assigns the same SID to all linked clones of the parent virtual machine.

So page 9 is where I am scratching my head.  The paragraph talks about:

you need a unique local SID for your linked clone desktops, you can use a workaround to avoid running Sysprep.  The workaround is to use Recompose on each desktop to force the system to create a new local SID.

So I am confused.  If they are referring to using quick prep vs sysprep, how is a recompose going to help because on page 8 they talk about the local sid being the same as the parent.  Also the AD SID is retained in quick prep regardless of recompose or refresh per my reference above.

If they are referring to still using sys prep just not having it generate a new side then why does it state "to avoid suing sysprep workaround??

Any light on this would be helpful
