Wildcard Certificates on Security Servers in 5.3

Hello all,

I recently raised a support request with VMware regarding our new Wildcard certificate not working.

I was told that since our certificate has multiple levels of domains (ours is *.ourcompany.com.au, intended to be used for view.ourcompany.com.au) it is unsupported and won't work.

Is this correct? I understand that I shouldn't be able to use my certificate for view.stuff.ourcompany.com.au, but I would still expect this product to support a very basic wildcard certificate.

We are running View 5.3, and our support rep confirmed that the certificate is setup as expected (vdm in friendly name, exportable properties enabled etc)

This is the error we are getting for reference:

2014-02-19T11:35:07.388+11:00 DEBUG (1540-0C34) <MessageFrameWorkDispatch> [MessageFrameWork] KeyVault FindCertificate: cert's checked=1, valid=0

2014-02-19T11:35:07.388+11:00 ERROR (1540-0AB8) <Thread-1> [KeyVaultKeyStore] No qualifying certificates in keystore

2014-02-19T11:35:07.388+11:00 DEBUG (1540-0AB8) <Thread-1> [KeyVaultKeyStore] Qualifying certificates: 0, others: 1

Thanks
