I have two scenarios I'm trying to test.
One is multiple high graphic/gaming possible localally connected computer running sessions on two or more monitors in a house.
The other more interesting one is running high performance DirectX/OpenGL remotely over a 1Gbps connection using PCoIP I guess.
I tried to eval Microsoft RemoteFX but it sucks, only supports limited DirectX and OpenGL 1.x.
So now I want to go the VMWare route.
I've got a AMD/ATI Firepro 9800v card though, not the Grid.
Is that going to be a huge problem?
How do I get started?
I haven't used VMWare in years, though I know the concepts behind it and PCoIP.
I want to maybe add a couple of other video cards I have laying around like a GTX 560TI on the computer as well.
I'm looking for information on setting up from scratch on my machine VDI's with passthrough GPU for the first scenario above.
And information on remoting a simliar setup maybe using my higher powered Firepro, or if I have to, getting a Grid Nvidia card.
Does anyone have links for full from scratch trial builds of either of these two scenarios?
I've looked at the Horizon View and it's looking like overkill for my tests, plus requires SQL and like five VM's etc. etc.
Any help is appreciated. If I need to move this to another VMWare discussion group let me know!
Thanks people!
