Customization time out, view connection or other issue?

I recently took over administration of a vmware system. The system is working for Day to Day operations, but I have encountered an error which led to other errors. And now I am trying to figure out where to start to get this fixed up.

First off, when I took over the View connection server had an error stating "server's certificate does match the URL". Every night we would get three "certificate is invalid for secure gateway at address view". This was supposedly an ongoing issue and were getting a new certificate to fix it soon, however the day to day was still working. New clients being added, etc.

First issue I have encounter is the title issue. I have run out out of desktops for new clients. I check the pool. Provisioning is disabled. Enabling it leads to issues with new desktops not completing with an error "Customization timed out". The desktops look okay in vSphere but have no agent version, or dns name listed in Horizon View. Thus it keeps trying to provision more, all with the same error. I checked the vmxnet3 issue but all the working desktops are have dual network cards with both vmxnet3 and e1000 as well. I remember we tried the hotfix in the past but that wasn't the issue I was told.

Running through the windows error logs for possible issues I find that my "Vmware Virtualcenter Management Webservices" keeps terminating with event ID 7031 . Running through the catalina log I think the issue may be a blocked port 8443 and so emailed the network team. Waiting on that. Any suggestions on what else to check would be helpful.

Now thinking the View certificate error may be affecting the provisioning I get a copy of the correct .cer file with the right URL, but can't find where the tools might have been installed to create the .p12 and jks in order to replace the previous cert on the View server (its .cer is too short. i.e. its currently installed with view.mycompany.com, when the View server url is view.myproject.mycompany.com and that's what my copy of the .cer lists). I don't want to just install openssl and replace certs willynilly as I have little experience with them and don't want to break any other connections.

So the question is are these all interrelated or can I focus on the problem of provisioning without solving the second two. I would think not but I wanted to be sure and search for verification or other potential solutions. Thanks.
