Hi,
I have a English Windows Server 2008 R2. Regional settings are German (I tried to change that to US, but the installer doesn't seem to care).
The customer insists that every OS and every application is installed in English, since a) troubleshooting becomes a pain in the ass otherwise and b) there are international teams working on this infrastructure.
When I install the Connection Server under this circumstances there are services named like "VMware View-Webkomponente", "VMware View-Verbindungsserver", VMware-View-Sicherheits-Gateway-Komponente" and so on. This is not the intended outcome and won't be accepted by the customer.
Here's what I tried:
- Tried logging in from the console connection since language preferences could be piggypacked over the RDP connection - no success
- Changed the following "Region and Language" settings inside Windows: Format, Location and even "Keyboard and Languags"- no success
- Located the "VMware View Connection Server64.msi" in the temp directory and tried passing the following option: "msiexec /i <Path-to-MSI> ProductLanguage=1033 which according to MS KB referrs to English - no success :-/
Now I'm out of options. The installer keeps insisting of starting the setup in German. Can please someone help?
Thanks and kind regards,
Frank
