Hi,
I'm not really sure how to go about troubleshooting this. So, if you could help me point to the right direction, that'd be great.
I'm working on a work laptop running Windows 7 (64-bit). Let's say the hostname is win7 and it's ip address is 10.111.112.xx. This machine is part of a workgroup.
I have access to VMware View (I believe it's version 5). I've created a VM through vSphere client 5. The VM is running Windows Server 2008 R2. It's joined to a domain instead of a workgroup (unlike my laptop). The ip address of this VM would be 10.111.113.xx. Notice that it's ip address is just in a different subnet.
I'm not able to ping the VM from my laptop. So, obviously I'm unable to RDP as well. However, from the VM I can ping my laptop. Right now the only way I can access/use the VM is via "Console" in vSphere client, which is not really ideal for regular work.
Would you be able to help with this issue? Basically, I'd like to be able to RDP to that VM from my laptop to work on it. Where's the issue?
