I can't seem to find a definitive answer to my question.
If I enable the "AutoConnect Map Additional Printer for VMware View" Group Policy in my AD Domain and apply it to my Persona enabled pool, then add a printer assigned to a particular user, is there any issue if the user is logging in via a Teradici based Zero Client?
According to the document found at:
It refers to "Disabling Virtual Channels for View Desktops" to make Location Based Printing work on Zero Clients which I have not done. However, in my test pool, using the settings below it seems to work with a zero client just fine in preliminary testing. I assume this is because I'm assigning the printer based on username and not via IP, MAC address, or client name, so no information is really needed from the zero client itself.
If I assign printers via username as above, should this work ok reliably with zero clients, and is there any potential issue with having the "AutoConnect Map Additional Printer for VMware View" Group Policy turned on with a zero client if I do it as shown in the screenshot?
We are a mixed HP Windows Embedded thin client and Teradici based zero client environment and I'd like to treat all the machines the same in my Persona pool so I can get rid of some persistent desktops and use a Persona based floating pool instead. I just don't want to cause issues with my zero client users if I enable the policy to my production pool.
