Hello everyone
I know this might be a nooby question, but I'm totally new with VMware View, so I just want to be sure about everything. I'm currently working as a System Engineer for a client the last few months and now they are ready to take the step to desktop virtualization. Currently they have to HP ProLiant servers running with ESXi 5.1 and a central SAN for the servers, combined with a vCenter Server and VMware HA setup.
Because we are already using VMware ESXi 5.1, I thought it would be best to stick with VMware products and so my eye fell on VMware Horizon View. I've googled it and read some documentation about it, but I don't quite understand the licensing for it.
We need to connect about 250 users to their virtual desktop over a WAN connection. So what would be the cost to connect those 250 users? And wich View product is necessary? The whole Horizon Suite or the Horizon View? And do we need to create 250 virtual desktop of just a few of them (like 5)?
And can we built further on our existing ESXi 5.1 platform, or do we need something else (like a separate server)?
