Apologies if this has been asked before.
I want to upgrade our v5 system to v6.1 but I want to do it like this:
1/ Create new VMs for the 2 Connection servers and the Composer server (running 2012 R2)
2/ Point these to the same vCenter currently being used by the v5 system
3/ Test creating pools etc whilst the v5 system is still running
4/ Cut the users over to the v6 system by changing our load balancer to point to the new Connection servers
5/ Decommission the 2 v5 Connection servers and the Composer server (all of which are running W2K8R2)
I'm not intending to touch vCenter or the hosts.
I can't think of any obvious reason why having 2 View systems temporarily using the same vCenter and hosts would cause a problem. Obviously, the new system will have all its own databases, service accounts, inventory folders etc etc.
Does anyone have experience of upgrading this way?
Thanks
Chris
