Horizon view spans two screens when only one monitor specified

I have two floating pools of desktops that are specified with just one monitor.  When users with two monitors access a desktop, both screens are taken over, with one monitor going black and the other one showing the remote desktop.  Clicking on the maximize/restore button pops the session into a single re-sizable window, which is what the users want in the first place.  While the 'fix' is easy, it's very frustrating to the users, and vexing to me since I can't seem to force the desktop to simply open in a window.  The sessions are delivered using PCOIP.  I've adjusted the settings on the machine to use just one monitor, and the pool to allow only one monitor.  I've looked at registry fixes to resolve the issue but to no avail.

Am I missing something?  Surely there should be a way to do what I'm trying to do, and in the end deliver a solution to my users that doesn't frustrate them.

ESX 5.5

VSphere 5.5

Horizon View 6.0

Thanks!
