One template, multiple networks (automated dedicated pool)?

Does anyone have any idea how to go about sharing a single template across multiple pools that have their own portgroups?

The weakness with the View automated process is that it does not allow you to customize the VM itself. So whatever network your template is configured to use will be where your VMs are spun up.

This creates a need to have at least one unique template per subnet / portgroup you want your virtual desktops to run in, and if that is the *only* difference between them this creates a need to maintain multiple identical templates that really ought to be the same image.

One workaround I can think of myself would be to create multiple VMX files and point them all at the same .VMDK, much like a linked clone minus the vmdk delta chain. But IMHO this is dirty fix and bound to cause headache somewhere down the line.

Any good ideas?
