Hi everyone,
I have a major headache in View 5.2 that I need help with.
I am building linked clones, the vms need to have 2 nics, 1 out to the web and the other for internal. I am using a basic Windows customisation profile in vcenter. They are going on the domain and I have set the network to custom settings and then put 2 nics as DHCP. When I provisioned 1 clone it worked, it was on the domain, web access and internal pinging etc etc. However, I then provisioned another one and I can't connect to it over RDP or PCoIP. Black screen, times out after 10-20 secs. As I understand it this is normally a network issue (normally only affects PCOIP rather than RDP I thought??)
Anyway, I provisioned some more and it seems (not to the letter) that every other one doesn't want to connect.
When looking in connection and vcenter, the only difference I can see between the 2 types of vm are that in the summary tab in vcenter, the ones that do work show the IP address of the web access nic and the ones that don't work, show the internal IP address. When you click view all, both ips are listed. This is baffling to me!
When I reset the vm (in vcenter) it allows me to log on to the console and it seems fine, once I try to connect to pcoip it fails with the black screen and then I can no longer even ctrl alt del in the vi client console. It doesn't show that it has been assigned a user either.
Strangely enough, I rebooted one that didn't work about 4 times and it suddenly looked at the web nic address and I can now connect to it using pcoip.
Lastly, speaking to our Network guy, he says that the PCoIP ports are open on the internal network, I can confirm this as it all works fine in full mode with 1 nic on the internal.
Any help would be massively appreciated. Let me know if you need more info.
Regards
David
