NVIDIA K1 Grid GPU installation on Dell R720

Background:

  • Just received a new Dell R720 with a NVIDIA K1 factory installed
  • .vib was not installed
  • I didnt recieve any documentation for the server or the K1 card; just the standard DELL DVD with current drivers for servers.
  • NVIDIA didnt have any specific documentation I could find on their website concerning VMware installs other than marketing material.
  • I have floating linked clones\persona management and multiple pools.
  • My endpoints are Samsung Teri-2 chipset ZeroClients.
  • We run Catia R22, Solidworks and NX 7.5

I found out I had to install the .vib and there was a .txt file included with the NVIDA GPU driver on the NVIDIA website.

I am basing my entire install of the K1 card on this single .txt file.

I followed these instructions:

1. installed the VMWare CLI on my PC

2. Downloaded and installed WinSCP on my PC

3. Copied the .vib to the ESX host using WinSCP

4. installed the .vib using the CLI using the command line found in the NVIDIA .txt file that was included with the driver.

In addition, in my test pool, I did the following:

5. Set 3D Renderer to Automatic and set vram to 128meg

What else do I need to do to make these linked clones rock? (they are already optimized with .bat and other tweaks found using spiceworks forum)

I don't seem to see any improvement (from clones running without the 3D) so there must be something I've missed.

Thanks for the help if you can point me to some current instructions!
