VMware View Endpoint Checks

I am looking at deploying an External Acecss Remote Desktop Solution back to our internal corporate environment.

I have deployed View along with the Security Server into the environment, and used Group Policy to lock down clipboard, printing and file copies to and from the users home PC as per the vmware doco.

We have provided this solution to our IT Security team who have come back with concerns around keylogging and other malicous attacks which could compromise the environment.

One solution which is possible, is using a VPN solution, and performing Host Checking which would work, however the VPN overhead is what we are trying to avoid.

So the real question is, does anyone know of how to implement an Endpoint Checker which checks for Anti-virus compliance ect similar to VPN products such as Juniper Networks Host Checker for a VMware View External Access environment which does not use VPN technology?
