Quick rundown of scenario:
I have a group of Cost Accountants who use VDI's in my main production environment to offload enormous Excel Pivot table processes on so it doesn't lock up their laptops.
We quickly came to the conclusion that we needed to get them a dedicated host so they could have all the cpu and ram they wanted without affecting the rest of my VDI users.
New host is up and I have built them a pool of what I call "super vdi's".
For testing I had one of them time how long it would take to process a specific file and found that the best results came with a certain combination of cpu's and RAM.
Everything was running perfectly during testing - until they started using the desktops like they normally do with multiple windows open at the same time.
The issue is that if they have more than one or two windows open, basic things like clicking around in excel cells or switching windows become very "laggy".
The processing of actual documents is still just as fast, but simple navigation is choppy.
These are Dedicated desktops. At first I had it setup to redirect Persistent data and Disposable files. Then I changed it to not redirect either which seemed to help.
I also upgraded their View Clients to the latest build (5.3.0 build 1042023) which actually helped a lot. Unfortunately they are still seeing significant lag while navigating any time there are more than a couple windows open.
Any suggestions/tips you guys have would be greatly appreciated!
